About the Role:
As our Tax Manager, you will primarily work with internal finance teams and external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate compliance. You will be involved in overseeing the end-to-end process from reviewing tax provisions for inclusion in statutory accounts, reviewing monthly and annual tax returns including supplementary forms, ensuring timely tax payments through to managing post-filing tax queries and audits.
You may also be involved in providing support to the business, ensuring all tax implications of a given business initiative are considered. Where required you will work with IT to ensure underlying systems are impact assessed, with necessary changes being made. This may include setting up presence in new countries, expansion of activities in existing locations and dealing with changes in business models.
Success in this role will require you to build a strong understanding of the business operations and setup. This will allow you to properly assess the impact of developments in tax law/practice to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure timely and accurate filing/payment of federal, state, and local taxes, including Income Tax (ISR) and VAT (IVA), across Mexico and other LATAM countries if there be expansion activities. This includes any withholding tax aspect.
• Oversee preparation/submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
• Manage DIM, DIOT, ISSIF, and other required SAT submissions.
• Coordinate annual tax provisions and deferred tax calculations; ensure proper internal controls over income tax accounting.
• Lead reconciliation of tax accounts and proper GL postings for tax payments.
Transfer Pricing & Intercompany Coordination
• Serve as local contact for Transfer Pricing documentation, consistent with group policies and SAT requirements.
• Validate intercompany pricing meets Mexican and LATAM requirements.
Tax Planning, Risk Management, and Audits
• Develop/implement tax optimization strategies within legal and ethical frameworks.
• Evaluate fiscal impacts of new business initiatives, pricing, and import operations.
• Advise on new Mexico and LATAM projects.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate operational impacts.
• Lead/manage tax audits, SAT reviews, and work with government authorities.
• Review operations of business partners/distributors to identify risks and opportunities.
Collaborative Activities
• Partner with global and regional tax teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Accounting, Logistics, Legal, Treasury) to ensure compliance and accurate tax reporting.
About you:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or similar.
• Background in financial accounting, reporting and/or auditing, preferably with an accounting and/or tax qualification
• 5+ years’ experience in an accounting and/or corporate environment
• Ability to multi-task, handle deadlines and implement practical solutions
• Experience operationalizing statutory accounting and audits.
• Experience with SAP, Contpaq, ERP systems, and SAT reporting.
• A keen interest in and ability to grasp tax laws of other countries
• Must be able to adhere to a 5-day office attendance schedule
