About the role

  • Supervise a group of Dyson operators to meet daily test schedules.
  • Involve in operator recruitment and staffing process according to Dyson requirement and carry out periodical operators’ assessment to review operators’ performance.
  • Manage operators in their test qualification process and maintain the records.
  • Manage headcount attendance and work closely with human resources in reducing absenteeism and turnover.
  • Keep safety compliance and procedures up to date and ensure safety and health compliance within operators and maintain a good housekeeping at all times.
  • Manage human resource matters such as recreational activities, staff welfare, counselling, awareness program, medical attention & training for operators.
  • Frequent reminder on company policies and procedures to all operator and report to test Manager / team leader / related parties for any safety issue encounter at workplace.
  • Plan training to newly recruited operators on general procedures and safety & health compliances based on existing company policy.
  • On job training and certification process for newly recruited operators.
  • Manage consumables (Indirect Material) for different test method.
  • Coordinator for test specimen incoming and outgoing. Always to keep all testing area in well-organized conditions.

About you

  • Education Background - Minimum of Diploma in preferably Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field which is equivalent experience with broad technical engineering skills. Degree holder will be added advantage.
  • Min 3 years of working experience in manufacturing/production operation
  • Experienced in industry that is related to operations of verification and testing development at the appropriate level.
  • Skilled in project management, testing environment, planning and conducting testing, and you had exposure to test rigs and automation.
  • Knowledge in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and statistical analysis.
  • Experienced in working with prototyping solutions and benchmark testing methodologies and exposure to test automation.

Essential:

  • Possess people leadership, excellent organisational and team-working skills; capable to plan efficiently, to prioritise tasks and to co-ordinate in keeping all relevant stakeholders in the loop on the status of projects and workloads.
  • Sound understanding of basic physical principles and the development of products and technologies through prototyping and testing.
  • Able to communicate (written & verbally) effectively through a variety of media.
  • Ability to plan, priorities and co-ordinate work with other levels in the organization.
  • Excellent team-working skills, capable of keeping all relevant parties in the loop on the status of projects and workload.
  • Able to work independently.               
  • Good attention to detail – able to execute duties following detailed instructions.
  • Displays initiative & pro activity in the investigation & resolution of difficulties / problems.
  • Proactive and have high level sense of urgency, responsibility, and commitment.
  • Willing to work on night shift, 12 hours shift.

Desirable:

  • Challenge existing test operation method for better improvement and workforce management.
  • Experience in test operation environment would be an advantage.
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
  • Capable of working under pressure, commit to tight deadlines and able to think and react promptly.
