About us

Dyson is a global technology enterprise.  We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better.  We’re driven by progress and thrive on the challenge of relentless improvement.  We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations and more people.

Our scale and rapid growth make Dyson rich in new opportunities. We value new ideas and diverse perspectives, so our people are trusted with real work and responsibility from the outset.  You’ll develop fast and have the chance to move into different business areas and regions.  And you’ll be part of a global network of like-minded people – a community that supports and learns from each other.

Power Systems is a global function that designs and develops Dyson’s internal technologies that enable most of our products. The team has experts in wide range of areas (mechanical, electrical, software, project management) and is responsible of the development from early stages through to production.

Engineering Analysis team within Power Systems is responsible for the performance, simulation, analysis, and experimental verification of the technology project. The team consists of experts in fields of turbomachinery, thermodynamics, acoustics, vibrations, rotor dynamics, fluid dynamics, structural analysis, and data analysis. Utilizing the state-of-the-art advanced analysis methods to ensure the design is optimised and robust for maximum performance.

About the role

As an intern, your primary duties and responsibilities shall include:

  • Assist your assigned team in the delivery of new motor development and cost-reduction projects by:

    • Assisting the team in actual laboratory testing of Dyson’s digital motors. You may be required to test some motors on your own from time to time after completing your assigned training and shadowing of your mentors. You may be assigned to focus on at least one, or more, technical areas depending on the team’s needs: thermal, aerodynamics, acoustics or structural.

    • Learn at least one simulation package to support simulation analysis requirements.

    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of technical reports.

  • Assist in the re-installation and re-commissioning of laboratory equipment in the new Dyson campus by:

    • Assisting in the performance of required calibration and verification activities of re-commissioned equipment.

    • Assisting in preparing required documentation.

    • Assist with the coordination from different teams, as required by your line manager.

  • Complete the training list and requirements to be provided by your mentors and line manager, which include:

    • Learning about related Dyson products in your team’s work.

    • Shadowing your mentors and peers in their work, when possible.

    • Learning analysis tools and data post-processing techniques.

    • Experiencing hands-on work with Dyson’s digital motors.

Our internship programme connects academic theory with practical experience. Gain valuable insights into professional applications through mentorships with our industry-leading experts and exposure to cutting-edge practices. Join us for a transformative journey where theory meets application, guided by the industry’s best minds!

About you

Our internship roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so you will need to be:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent (other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered).

  • Fundamental knowledge in one or more of the areas: structural dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, strength of materials, vibro- or aero- acoustics

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate, model and provide critical insights into complex physical phenomena such as aerodynamic performance, noise, vibration, vibro-acoustics, aero-acoustics, or thermal management.

  • Ability to perform thermodynamic heat transfer calculations and proficient in the theory of thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and fluid dynamics.

  • Proficiency with engineering CAD modelling is highly preferred. Experience in using simulation analysis software such as ANSYS, Numeca, and/or AxCent would be advantageous.

  • Good understanding of experimental techniques and statistical methods, particularly about pressure, temperature, strain, and flow measurement.

  • Interest in understanding of rotating machinery design.

  • The proven ability to work as part of a team or un-supervised to an agreed goal or set of deliverables is imperative.

  • A clear logical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.

  • A proven structured approach to creative problem solving.

  • Ability to communicate appropriate, concise, and accurate information in written and verbal format.

Please note that these roles are for full-time onsite internship in Calamba, Laguna from May to August 2025.
