About the role
Reporting to the Director of Demand planning, the Manager of Demand Planning is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of a fully integrated demand plan/forecasting process covering 12-18 month horizon with associated analytics, channel/category segmentation, and metrics. They will lead a monthly S&OP forecasting process to drive supply chain efficiency. The role focuses on leadership in data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and process optimization to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and business objectives.
Develop, implement, and manage 12-18 month channel, category, account, and item level demand forecasts. Communicate R&O, and recommended actions needed to achieve target levels
Responsible for leading monthly S&OP forecast review, including participation in cross functional meetings to drive alignment between demand forecasts and business strategies involving finance, marketing, supply chain, and sales
Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to assess product and category performance, ensure trends are appropriately captured in item level demand plans, including base item and promotional forecasting, event planning, and weekly/monthly performance analysis and insight
Thought leadership on impact, analysis, and reporting of price changes, cannibalization, innovation, assortment changes, PIPO, EOL, E&O
Actively participate in the annual budget planning process, and the creation and delivery of assigned budgets on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
Coordinate with marketing to incorporate new product launches into the demand planning and forecasting cycle, achieve bottoms-up view and maintain true demand vs regional/global feasibility targets
Work in collaboration with Supply Planning to ensure an executable plan is developed to meet forecast requirements and budget targets
Implement, and enhance dashboards, KPIs, models, and reporting tools to enhance and track forecast accuracy, efficiency, support demand planning actives
Conduct root cause analysis on forecast variances, implement corrective actions to improve accuracy
Identify and implement best practices and process improvements in demand planning and forecasting
Lead monthly forecasting cadence ensuring objectives are met in line with milestone calendar for demand reviews and forecast submission
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of demand planners, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance objectives and accountability standards for team members
Create positive working relationships across all level of the Dyson organization both in the US
About you
Bachelors of Science in Supply Chain Management, Demand Planning, Business Administration or equivalent
7+ years of experience in demand planning within CPG with key national accounts, demonstrated success in leading S&OP/SIOP process
2+ years demonstrated success as knowledgeable demand planning manager, experience in leading and developing a team of demand planners, track record of leading process improvements
Knowledge of Anaplan, SAP IBP
Strong process focused communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge in forecasting tools, methodologies, and best practices with an understanding of financial and operational impacts on process partners
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills, detail oriented
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Advanced Excel experience, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
Strives to attain quality results on time, conveys a sense of urgency, drives issues to closure, and earns a reputation for reliability and dependability
